At the close of every season, the coaches from the Western Conference gather together to determine a first and second team of all-stars along with a coach of the year for each division. The Western Conference is made up of three divisions - American, Federal and National. Alonso is in the American division, which consists of: Alonso, Steinbrenner, Sickles, Plant, Gaither, Blake, Jefferson, Robinson and Leto.
This year, Alonso was front and center in the discussions. There was definite talk about how much Alonso had improved. When all the voting was done, the American Division coaches had landed on the below players for the first and second team of the American Division and had named Alonso's head coach as Coach of the Year.
These honors are not to be taken lightly. They are recognitions not only of the players and coach named, but of the Ravens players and coaches not named. As we all know, soccer is a team sport. None of these accomplishments could have happened without the rest of the team and coaches doing great work in those hours and days when others are not looking. Congratulations to all Ravens! These are all really team honors. Click on each photo for more information about each player and coach.
