Reid Holt
First Team Western Conference
American Division
What is left to be said about Reid that hasn't been said already? Simply put, Reid was our leader in the back. His absence was deeply felt after his horrible injury on January 8 during the Steinbrenner game. After Reid was taken away from that game on a stretcher, the Ravens conceded 24 goals in the remaining 6 games. Only 8 goals had been scored against the Ravens in the preceding 13 games. He was a difference maker, plain and simple. Reid got love from spectators far and wide and saved Alonso early in the season with his web-like hands. Alonso absolutely would not have had a winning record this season if not for Reid.
For those that don't know his stats, Reid's goals against average this season was an incredible .602. He did not allow more than two goals against him in any game all season and notched 7 clean sheets in 12 games played. No team scored on Reid between the second half against Plant on November 19, 2024, and the second half against Freedom on January 7, 2025, a period spanning over 400 minutes of game time.
What doesn't show up on the score line, though, is what Reid and his family did off the field that really set he and his family apart from the pack. For all four years of his time at Alonso, Reid would show up to be the ballboy for the girls. While the rest of the guys had gone home and showered, Reid was still at the field helping his fellow Lady Ravens on the sidelines. His mother, Tamara Holt, has been the unofficial team photographer for four years. She showed up on day one and started snapping photos. Before we knew it, she had become a staple on the sidelines and it would feel empty on those few occasions when she couldn't make it. Reid's dad, Eric, was always the first to congratulate other players, to encourage his son after the game and to help out with concessions to help raise money for the team. The hole that the Reid and his family is going to leave behind will be enormous.
As if that wasn't enough, Reid showed up to every game after having surgery on his jaw. Despite some freezing temperatures, some distant locations and the fact that his mouth was wired shut, Reid showed up to cheer on his mates and give them encouragement. We are so sad to see Reid go, but are so proud of how far he has come since his freshman year. Congratulations, Reid!
